History
of the Republic
191/06 Imperial explorers from the Inner
Empire discover a new Periphery, the Draconian Periphery, later called the Draconian
Cluster, or DC. Plans are made to explore and develop this new area using five
newly chartered privately held affiliations.
191/38 DC 'Home Colonies' officially opened
to the five new affiliations that have been selected to explore and develop the
newly opened Draconian Cluster, PTE (Phoenix Trade and Exploration) Rodenberry,
BIG (Business Investors' Guild) Vault, ROC (Republic of Corona) Pergamentum
(later renamed to Looking Glass), VVC Prophesy, and POL Daytona.
191/45 PTE Bandit One, PTE Crimson Flame
and PTE Medusa complete a system map of all 26 Draconian Cluster
systems.
192/10 Pahl Kantner is recalled to the Inner
Empire upon the death of his grandfather.
He assumes leadership of the Clan o’the Rock.
192/11 Inner Empire authorities transfer
Heavy Cruiser technology to the DC affiliations.
192/12 Draconian Cluster explorer Ian Dunbar
discovers the 'Zombie Colony', IND Romero. He begins negotiations to
bring the colony into the ROC. Xenobiologists report the Zombies (Necroatians)
favorite food is human brains, 'straight from the bucket'. Initial contacts do
not go well, a few skirmishes seem unimportant at the time, but they are the
first blows in a war that will rage across the skies of the Draconian Cluster
until 199.
192/15 In the DC, BIG Ten-Inch finds
two VVC ships in a deteriorating orbit, the BIG hail the ships, then pull
alongside and board without opposition. The VVC crews have extremely low moral
and are apathetic. BIG crews are placed aboard the vessels, which are flown to
safety.
192/17 Governor Turqman establishes ROC
Beggars Tomb, the first DC colony beyond the original five Home Colonies.
192/22 The PTE declares the Moas Grass on
Koot to be a protected artifact, the first cultural protected area in the
Draconian Cluster.
192/24 Grandma Blatt's "Blue Flame"
Baked Bean factory on BIG Vault in the Tycoon System (DC) is totally destroyed
in an early morning explosion. The massive explosion was triggered by a build
up of methane gas and an idiot with a cigarette. Globs of scorched bean puree
are found up to five miles away.
192/25 ROC President Franke Goldman posts the
vessel ROC Diehard 2 for selling information to other affiliations. The
vessel is subsequently captured and boarded by ROC Murphy's Law.
192/29 Several leadership changes in the DC
companies occur in a relatively short timespan. Stu Krieger replaces Dax
Krieger as BIG Guildmaster, Cody replaces Hogun as PD of the PTE, and the
explorer/hero Malcolm Dunbar is elected President of the ROC.
193/14 First Battle of Tycoon: ROC Devils
Fiddle and ROC Thrasher attack BIG Tub 'O' Rust, in Tycoon,
leaving her derelict.
193/17 ROC Thrasher bombards a BIG OP on
Morek, destroying 80% of it.
193/17 Second Battle of Tycoon: ROC Devils
Fiddle and ROC Thrasher, now supported by ROC Murphy's Law, ROC
Laconia and ROC Search III attack BIG Charles Morand and BIG
Girard in Tycoon. BIG Charles Morand flees, but BIG Girard is
disabled and attacked again 192/18.
193/20 Faced with the ROC's refusal to
negotiate a peaceful solution to their differences, the BIG abandon operations
in the DC.
194/48 The two remaining active affiliations
on the DC (the PTE and ROC) combine to for the ROC (Republic of Corona). Bill
Cody, former PTE PD is elected President of the ROC, replacing President
Dunbar.
195/01 ISP Free Enterprise, a captured
RIP freighter, being flown an ISP prize crew en route to get repairs, passes
through Applecore System and detects a gravitational anomaly forming that is
affecting the jump routes. ISS Sacagawea is ordered to investigate the
anomaly.
195/06 The ISS announces that the ISS Sacagawea
has successfully jumped from the Applecore system to the Adamski System in the
Draconian Cluster. Simultaneously a ROC ship jumps from Yank to Dragonne. The
ROC claims all the systems in the Draconian Cluster. The IMP recognises the ROC
claim and grants ROC vessels full visas to travel in IMP territory. IMP ships
are granted a full visa to travel in ROC territory. The jumps require six jump
engines and have a hull limit of 33 hulls. The USS is granted a lease on ROC Prophecy,
making it USS Prophecy, and the USS becomes the first affiliation to be
granted a ROC Charter, and the first to establish a colony in the Draconian
Cluster.
195/08 StarCaptain Valdor appointed commander
of the ROC Space Force, beginning a very active period for the ROC military.
195/09 Speaker Silver Cascade, the leader of
the Myrian government gives a Myrship as a gift to the People. This vessel (ROC
Constitution) first serves the People by transporting much needed supplies
into the Republic. She later serves in defence of the Republic as one of the
mainstays of the ROC Space Force. This gift ensures warm relations betrween the
ROC and the Myr. The Myrship's 100 MU hull shift make it an excellent vessel
for use within the Republic and Nexus, and several more Myrships are purchased
by the ROC. The design is later superceded by the 'Myrchant'. ROC
Constitution is later lost with all hands fighting sedition in the skies
above Geeche
195/13 The 47 men of the ROC 54th
Highlanders seek fame and fortune by attacking IND Zekefire.
Unfortunately the colony is defended by 3 RDBs, which kill all the "47 of
the 54th".
195/30 ROC S.O.L.T.I.B.
discovers a new jump from Erasure to a new region of space known as the Nexus.
Subsequently, the ROC discovers that the Stellar Empire and a race known as the
Ekinos (EKN) have been in the Nexus for some time, but have kept the new jump
connection secret. The ROC announces the discovery to the gentlebeings of the
universe and ROC exploration vessels pour into the Nexus region. Other
organizations also send a number of exploration vessels.
195/38 Perecles/Pecula: The SAM colonies SAM
Wilderness, SAM Pecula Hive, SAM Port Folorn, and SAM Perecles
attack and destroy the Myrship ROC Desolate I. It is not know why the ROC
Desolate I was orbiting Pecula.
195/39 ROC Ticonderoga, commanded by
Admiral Valdor, arrived at Yank/Mobile Bay to investigate the mysterious
annihilation of IND Villiard.
195/40 DDR Mamnon appears in orbit Yank/Mobile
Bay. The DDR are a totally unknown affiliation, at first DDR is thought to
stand for the Dark Dominion, only after four years of war is their true name,
Dark Dominion Royals, known. From this day forth the DDR Mamnon becomes
a modern day ghost ship of the Republic, feared by many, seen by few. Admiral
Valdor spends a nervous week, facing an alien vessel of unknown capabilities
and size.
195/41 ROC reinforcements arrive over
Yank/Mobile Bay, the DDR Mamnon is repeatedly ordered to heave to for boarding,
she does not respond.
195/41 Adamski/2235 The Heavy Cruiser ROC
Ticonderoga (commanded by Rear Admiral Jason Valdor) encounters and attacks
the Myrship RIP Talisker, the Myrship immediately flees. Admiral Valdor
is reprimanded for attacking the RIP ship. This incident is the beginning of
Admiral Valdor's disenchantment with civilian control of the military, which
culminates in his eventual emigration to the Stellar Empire.
195/42 ROC Devil's Fiddle arrives over
Yank/Mobile Bay, with a search warrant for the DDR Mamnon. The
Republic Space Force attempts to forcibly execute the search warrant. ROC
Devil's Fiddle, commanded by Commodore Varski, ROC Republic's Pride,
commanded by Ens Brett Larson, ROC Girard, commanded by Lcdr James
Valiant, ROC Ticonderoga, commanded by Rear Adm Jason Valdor and ROC
Western, commanded by Lt. Jake McKeeg open fire on the DDR Mamnon,
an 'Attack Cruiser' commanded by Capt. Ukl Enh'Etl. A USS CL observes the
battle, but does not take part. The DDR Mamnon is damaged, but manages
to escape, is immediately ROC posted.
195/43 Adamski/2235 The Heavy Cruiser ROC
Western, commanded by Lt. Jake McKeeg encounters RIP Dorsal Fin
(SC). The pirate vessel flees immediately, although the ROC Western is
unable to fire due to battle damage from the previous week.
195/44 Adamski/2749: First Battle of Adamski.
The Heavy Cruisers ROC Death2, ROC Death1, ROC Gladiator, ROC Reynier, ROC
Ticonderoga (commanded by Rear Admiral Jason Valdor), ROC Western
and ROC Independence, supported by the Myrship ROC Constitution
(commanded by Read Admiral Steven Cody) encounter and attack the DDR Mamnon
(Attack Cruiser, commanded by Capt. Ukl Enh'Etl), DDR Interpid, DDR
Enterprise (Escort Carriers), DDR Nikriti-I, DDR Nikriti-II, DDR
Nikriti-III,DDR Nikriti-IV (SDBs) and the DDR AD-111 (Tender). The
DDR Spacefighters prove to be deadly adversaries two ROC vessels (ROC Death2
and ROC Reynier) are lost. All the DDR vessels survive, although by the
end of the battle, six ROC vessels are still firing, but only one DDR vessel
(the DDR Nikriti-II, firing 40 Tachyon cannons for minimal damage) is
combat capable.
195/44 The DTR HQ, DTR Detinus attacks
and captures ROC Kaga IV while it is trading at her Spaceport. In
response the Republic of Corona posts DTR Detinus. Only after the DTR
rebels are victorious are reparations made and the posting lifted.
195/45 Adamski/2749: Second Battle of
Adamski, ROC Grey Ghost, ROC Devil's Fiddle, ROC Death1, ROC Dragon Phyre,
ROC Gladiator, ROC Constitution, ROC Independence, ROC Ticonderoga, and
ROC Outer Limits pounce on and destroy an unarmed DDR supply ship (DDR
AD-111, a 'Tender' commanded by Lt. Ko Do'Ryt). It is destroyed in the
first salvo and it the first confirmed Republican kill of a DDR vessel.
195/46 The Republic of Corona publishes its
exploration results for the Nexus System(225), the existence, jump engine
limit, location, and periodicity of micro-wormholes, and the names of the
systems they lead to becomes available to the People for the first time.
Previously tyrants, aliens, and technocrats had sought to keep this information
for themselves.
196/06 the Republic and the EEM sign a
colonization treaty. In return for colonization rights in the DC, the EEM
agrees to assist the Republic in reverse engineering Pocket Battleship technology.
195/48 Malcolm Dunbar elected President of
the Republic of Corona, the first person to serve two terms as President.
President Dunbar's first official act is to appoint Admiral Jason Valdor as
Vice President.
196/20 Jonathan Adenauer resigns as ROC
Foreign Minister and Information Coordinator.
196/21 Vice-President Jason Valdor succumbs
to the cultural pollution of the Tyrant and leaves the Republic to join the
tyrannical forces of the Stellar Empire.
196/22 Lcdr James T. Valiant, former Republic
Trade Secretary is found guilty of 'gross dereliction of duty', resulting in
the loss of two MoWs with all hands. Based on medical evidence, and an
emotional appeal by Admiral Jason Valdor on behalf of his comrade from Mobile
Bay, he is remanded to the care of a specialized outpatient medical facility.
He is believed to be currently employed as a burrito cook at ROC Corona's Spaceport
Taco Bell.
196/25 Ryerson/Blackdar: A ISP/KZK/SMS fleet
of 7 capital warships and 2 smaller vessels, commanded by Admiral Jason Valdor
aboard the ISP Deutschland, blockades Ryerson, and the three RIP
colonies that have been found there. The blockading fleet is stretched thin
because Imperial forces are fighting the FOE/DTR in Gank over a captured AFT
Colony. Unexpectedly a fleet of 17 RIP warships (1 Baseship, 9 capital ships,
and 7 Survey Cruisers), armed primarily with Ion Cannon, sorties out to break
the blockade. The IMP blockade cannot be broken, 3 RIP capital ships and 1 SC
are destroyed, along with one SMS vessel. But the hideous ion radiation has
exacted its gruesome toll, nobody is left alive aboard the IMP flagship, ISP
Deutschland, even the main section has been swept clean by Ion Cannon fire.
Admiral Jason Valdor is dead.
196/29 ROC President Dunbar bans the FOE from orbiting or visiting Republican
worlds. Statements, made by a representative of the Foelian government (related
to slave breeding, slave sacrifices and colonist sacrifices) are "deeply
disturbing, and to be totally inimicable to the Founding Principles of this
Republic".
196/34 IND Zekefire, Blowton/Valley.
Ruler Zeke flees his colony and "Vows Revenge On Those Who Have Destroyed
My Dream". He is remembered as a tyrant with little compassion who
betrayed and murdered his father to ascend to power.
196/36 ROC President Dunbar awards ROC
Senator Bill Cody the "ROC Diplomacy Medal" for his vigorous
diplomatic response to the Kazerekii's attempt to pimp the Celtians.
197/01Blowton/Geeche: The Survey Cruisers ISP
Lone Ranger 1, ISP Lone Ranger 2 and ISP Newtonian Fable arrive on
station at Geeche orbit. These are the vanguard of a larger ISP deployment in
support of the Republic's stuggle against terrorism and secession. This
deployment followed by the staggering ISP losses over Geeche cement the
unlikely friendship between the Republic and the Stellar Empire.
197/04 Blowton/Geeche. As dawn breaks over IND
Romero, a multi-affiliation task force is beginning another orbital
bombardment of the terrorist base when a DDR Strike Group (DDR Mamnon,
and the Escort Carriers DDR Enterprise and DDR Intrepid) attacks.
USS Ummagumma, ROC Goodwill Ambassador, ROC Grey Ghost, ROC Colony
Purgatory, ROC Gladiator, IND Western, IND Ticonderoga, ROC Wildfire, ROC
Death4, ROC Chikhai Kaya, ROC Xterminx, ROC Death2, ISP Long Ranger 1, ISP Long
Ranger 2, ISP Sharps, and ISP Newtonian Fable. (the battle marks one
of the rare occasions where the IMP and USS find themselves on the same side).
While the task force divides its fire between
IND Romero and the DDR Strike group, the DDR use Tachyon Cannons, Mass
Drivers, and their deadly masses of Spacefighters to great effect.
DDR Mamnon's shields are breached, and she continues to soak
extraordinary damage, but is still able to limp away to safety. IND (formerly
ROC) Ticonderoga, ROC Death2 are lost to DDR Spacefighters.
All the DDR ships escape.
197/05 Ventor/Outpost 67 DDR Colony
Knightholm attacks and destroys the SC ROC Nexus 1.
197/08 Blowton/Geeche: The main ISP fleet,
consisting of 20 warships (ISP Nexus Relief 31 thru' 50), arrives
in Geeche orbit. 2 ISP vessels are lost within days to the swarms of
spacefighters being launched from IND Romero.
197/09 Blowton/Geeche: The IND Romero
spacefighters claim another ISP Survey Cruiser. But IND Romero is
suffering continual punishing orbital bombardments. How much more can the
colony take?
197/11 Blowton/Geeche: Orbital bombardment of
the secessionists at IND Romero continues, two more ISP survey cruisers are
lost to the IND Romero spacefighters. The Romero pilots seem to be able
to destroy any vessel they target. Its fortunate that they only scramble twice
a week.
197/12 Blowton/Geeche: This time the Republic
gets its ticket punched over Geeche, as two ROC ships lost to the IND Romero
spacefighters. One is the ROC Devil's Fiddle, commanded by Vice Admiral
Varski.
197/16 Blowton/Geeche: ROC Constitution,
(Myrship) commanded by Senator Bill Cody's son, Admiral Steven Cody, is lost
with all hands while fighting off spacefighters in the skies over
Blowton/Geeche. The Republic is loosing the cream of a generation in this
struggle for democracy. An ISP Survey Cruiser is lost also.
197/17 Blowton/Geeche: Additional ISP
reinforcements arrive: ISP Lone Ranger's 8 thru 13 (Survey
Cruisers).
Most of the ROC fleet has withdrawn, only 3 ROC ships remain, along with an IND
ship commanded by Jake McKeeg. The bulk of the battle is carried by the ISP,
and 2 ISP ships lost this week.
197/19 Blowton/Geeche: Six ROC Vessels arrive
to reinforcing the blockade. Two ROC ships are lost to spacefighter attacks, including
ROC Wildfire, commanded by Vice Admiral Varmogul. The highest ranking
officer in the Allied fleet is now LCDR Scipio of the ROC Battle Claw.
197/20 Blowton/Geeche: While the ground
battle rages below, several orbital skirmishes are fought (between 197/20 and
197/39), and several Alliance ships are lost. The Allied fleet is becoming
increasingly complacent, believing that the orbit is secure, and IND Romero
is isolated from DDR resupply. In reality the DDR is using cloaked vessels to
slip through the blockade unseen, and the Geeche orbit is becoming increasing
untenable as IND Romero's space weapons are reinforced.
197/24 Inferno/Fork: ROC Corona
announces the opening of the Steven Cody Memorial Coliseum.
197/24 Blowton/Geeche: The ground battle for IND
Romero (Blowton/Geeche) hangs in the balance. ROC forces hold the
spaceport, and begin constant air attacks on the colony itself. The elite ROC
Death Sqdn, supported by the ROC 1st Battalion lead the
charge. IND Romero has no ground forces, but it is ably defended by the
ground party DDR Caesar. ROC Patriots fail to liberate the colony from tyranny.
197/38 In response to ZCS threats and
incursions against USS positions within the Republic, the ROC grants the USS
authority to attack ZCS ships found within the same space square as a USS
colony
197/39 Blowton/Geeche: Another supposedly
routine bombardment of IND Romero. But this time the colony flexes its
new found muscle, 11 allied ships are lost, 6 ROC & 5 ISP (only 8 ISP
warships, of the 29 sent to Geeche, remain). This week's losses are the biggest
so far suffered by the alliance, a war that seemed won, now seems lost. The
unlikely friendship between the ROC and IMP is sealed in blood in the skies
over Geeche. ISS Volksboot Seiben investigates the unique fauna of
Geeche on the planet's surface.
197/40 In response to ZCS assurances that it
will not spread the GA/SAM war into the Republic. The ROC rescinds USS
authority to attack ZCS vessels near USS colonies within the Republic.
197/51 Romero/Geeche: Between 197/39 and
197/50, IND Romero does not initiate combat. The lesson of 197/39 is not
learned by the alliance fleet. The orbit has become untenable, and allied ships
remain in orbit only because IND Romero allows them to. This week the
allies make the mistake of beginning another orbital bombardment, and IND
Romero roars her outrage. 2 ROC ships and 7 ISP ships are destroyed. This
is the highest single week losses the ISP has suffered to date. Only 1 ISP
warship, and the ISS Volksboot Seiben remain of the ISP assets deployed
to Geeche. This is the high point of IND Romero's orbital capabilites.
Over the new few months she is not as well resupplied by her DDR puppetmasters,
and the continual losses to the relentless orbital bombardment and ground
assaults are not replaced. DDR logistical capabilities are focussed on
supporting the ground defenses . Occasionally ROC Purgatory is able to amass
enough missiles to land some devastating blows. By 198/21 Romero's space
weapons are a pitiful 124 space fighters.
198/01 Blowton/Geeche: Star Admiral Terry
Gordie dies when his ship, the ROC Escapade, implodes after severe
damage from IND Romero spacefighters. Also lost is the last ISP warship
remaining over Geeche, only the explorer ISS Volksboot Sieben remains. ISS
Volksboot Sieben is off-station being resupplied, and is expected to return
to the surface shortly.
198/02 Blowton/Geeche: Two orbital battles,
first IND Romero fires, with no allied losses. Then a second battle
begins when ROC Dreadx leaves orbit and returns. The last IMP ship, ISS
Volksboot Seiben is destroyed before
she can return to the surface. 30 IMP ships have been lost over Geeche, the
Stellar Empire cannot sustain these losses, and fight the Samillian invasion.
The Stellar Empire withdraws form the Geeche conflict, leaving the Republic to
fight on alone.
198/10 ROC Corona: A food poisoning outbreak
that kills a six year old girl is traced to tainted meat at the Spaceport Taco
Bell. The infamous coward and burrito
cook, James T. Valiant, skips town on a tramp freighter before an arrest can be
made.
198/21 Blowton/Geeche: IND Romero and ROC
Purgatory resemble two punch drunk fighters as their diminished space
weapons shout out yet again (Space fighters only this week, Purgatory
boasts 134, Romero 124).
198/23 Blowton/Geeche: Two ROC Space Force
vessels (the War Galley ROC Dream Maker and the Survey Cruiser ROC
Roundabout) arrive to support ROC Purgatory, but withdraw when
sensors report Zombie Space Fighters scrambling. Its becoming obvious that two years
of conflict has exhausted the space/orbital capabilities of both sides.
198/24 Blowton/Geeche. The battle for freedom
on Geeche has degenerated into trench warfare. ROC strategic hopes are pinned
on increased resupply to the Patriots on Geeche. Unfortunately every ROC effort
has been matched, and exceeded, by increased DDR logistical support. Usually
the ROC forces (ROC Patriot Brigade and Death Sqdn) repeatedly
bomb the colony defenders, but this time the orders are to close for ground
combat. As the bloody week of 24/198 begins it becomes obvious that the
infernal Dominion has reinforced the zombie cultists. Elite Dominion units (the
Knight Brigade and 8th Elite Knights), as well as
components of the mysterious Trell Army Group ( 33rd Trell Army,
1/9 Trell Army Group, 2/9 Trell Army Group, and 3/9 Trell Army Group)
have been thrown into the fray. Horrendous, almost unstoppable, alien devices
called 'Morgatrons' roam the battlefield spreading death and terror, and the
bone chilling Realm Knights attack without rest or mercy. It heartens all
Patriots to see our ground fighter pilots ceaselessly attack the infidels, even
though this leaves little time to establish air superiority. The ROC ground
forces disengage from battle, official records state that it is not a rout, it
is a strategic withdrawal.
198/25 Blowton/Geeche. ROC Purgatory
and IND Romero resume their punch drunk death dance. Purgatory
boasts 1392 missiles and 102 fighters, Romero launches 133 fighters.
198/26 Blowton/Geeche. ROC Purgatory attacks
IND Romero, using all her missiles in the first salvo. Romero's spacefighters
are whittled down by defensive Pulsar fire. As the holy struggle rages in the
heavens, battle is joined on the ground as well! ROC Patriots hurl themselves
in an almost unwinnable attack against the heathen evil of the Dark Dominion.
An difficult situation turns utterly hopeless when it becomes obvious that the
cloaked Dominion resupply fleet has once more slipped through the blockade
unseen and reinforced the Knight Brigade (+800 ground fighters) as well
as 1/9 Trell Army Grp (+210 Realm Knights) and the 2/9 Trell Army Grp
(+210 Realm Knights). After this attack, the remains of the ROC Air force are
ominously unprotected. ROC Patriot Brigade is completely wiped out in
this attack. ROC President Dunbar publicly vows to avenge the Patriot
Brigade.
198/27 Blowton/Geeche: ROC forces again
assault IND Romero from space, and on the ground. Admiral Varzur aboard
the ROC Downdraft takes over command of orbital operations, but the results
are disappointing, Romero's alien shields are not breached and for the
first week in months, Romero is unscathed by the orbital bombardment.
The Republic throws its 13th Air Group onto the pyre outside the gates of
Romero. Just an air raid this week, the forces of democracy lack the strength
to suffer again the losses they incurred last week during a ground assault. The
satanists have succeeded again in reinforcing their blasphemous Trell Army.
President Dunbar, like a caring doctor, will not give up the fight to exorcise
the Republic of this infection. With a stirring speech he mobilizes the entire
Republic to win what has become a war of attrition and logistics. This speech
is later recognized as the turning point of the war.
198/28 Inferno/Fork : Like all other ROC
colonies, ROC Corona is placed on a full war footing, producing ground
fighters day and night for the forces of democracy on Geeche. The Republic has
also acquired Troop specialized, Cargo Carriers with which to resupply the
Geeche freedom fighters.
198/30 Blowton/Geeche: The Dominion again
shows an astonishing and baffling ability to bring very significant
reinforcements (estimated at 24,000 MUs) at will to their ground forces on
Geeche. Whereas Patriots had faced groups of 3 or 4 Morgatrons in the past,
these terrifying alien machines now roam the battlefield in groups of 20. The
ROC Space Force is unable to identify or interdict the logistical capabilities
of the Dominion at this point. ROC officials (speaking off the record) state
that they believe the DDR units are at full strength at the start of this ROC
air raid. The massively reinforced ROC air units are spectacularly successful,
sweeping the skies of DDR forces and destroying every DDR ground fighter, even
so, the following wave of bombers take significant losses from the Dominion AA.
Only an air raid this week, but the forces of freedom are growing, ROC forces
are about 154,000MUs, vs 64,000 Zombie MUs at the end of the week. After first
neutralizing Romero's orbital capabilities, the Republic has now
obtained air superiority. The next step must be to bury the infidels in a hail
of fire and vengance.
198/31 Blowton/Geeche: The effects of three
years of attrition begin to be felt. ROC Purgatory fires 6 missiles and
launches 134 space fighters, IND Romero responds with 6 space fighters.
198/32 Blowton/Geeche: ROC Purgatory fires
6 missiles, 1 pulsar, and 1 fighter, and is outgunned by the Myrship ROC I.
Rashaan which fires 76 missiles. The Zombies terrorists at IND Romero
launch 134 Space Fighters.
198/38 Senator Bledsoe is elected ROC
President, all affiliations with colonies in the Republic were allowed to vote.
Former President Malcolm Dunbar, tired of war, and sickened by the loss of life
returns to his home colony of ROC Looking Glass.
198/39 Blowton/Geeche: ROC Vagabond
and ROC Death1 attack IND Romero in support of ongoing ground
operations. Romero does not fire back, and ROC Purgatory does not
support the attack. Both vessels combine firepower to pierce the non-military
ring shields by Round 3. A massive ROC air raid on Romero fails to draw out the
DDR defenders. The DDR ground parties do not defend the colony, and the air
raid only produces more craters in what is already a hollow shell of a colony.
198/39 Blowton/1543 Geeche Orbit: The War
Cruiser ROC Vagabond and the Man-O-War ROC Death1 conduct an
orbital bombardment of secessionist base IND Romero. The colony does not
respond.
198/40 The Republic of Corona joins the Grand
Alliance.
198/42 Blowton/1543: ROC East Fall(CA),
ROC Anarchy(WC) commanded by Lt. Caleb Dunbar, ROC Roundabout(SC),
ROC Death1(MoW), ROC Grey Ghost(MoW) commanded by Rear Admiral R. H.
Cunningham, ROC Battle Claw(SC), ROC Death Phyre(MoW), ROC
Downdraft(MoW) commanded by Admiral Varzur, ROC Ovation(SC), and ROC
Flume(SC), interdict two DDR Combat Resupply vessels, DDR Squire Supply
28 and DDR Squire Supply 29. Both DDR vessels are destroyed.
198/44 Blowton/Geeche: ROC Purgatory,
and ROC Cathedral launch their space fighters at IND Romero, the punch
drunk colony offers no defense. It is good to know that Secessionists are dying
tonight.
198/44 Blowton/1643 ROC Death1, ROC Death
Phyre, ROC Death4, ROC I. Rashaan and ROC Vagabond interdict a DDR
terrorist supply convoy comprising DDR Squireship 18 (PB), DDR Squire
5 (PB), and DDR Squire Supply 17 (Combat Resupply). DDR Squire
Supply 17 is destroyed.
198/45 Blowton/1543 ROC Skyehawk, ROC
Anarchy, ROC Grey Ghost, ROC Death3 and ROC Downdraft (commanded by
Admiral Varzur) attack and, with a single salvo, destroy DDR Squire 5, a
Pocket Battleship commanded by Ensign Ubla Gabolaba
198/50 DDR surrender to the ROC and agree to
withdraw from the Republic, pursuant to the DDR surrender, the ROC unposts a
number of DDR vessels, including the legendary DDR Mamnon. The
arrangements are made through a neutral third party, Lord Rhys Haldane of the
USA.
199/04 The Republic of Corona reverse
engineers the Pocket Battleship as an affiliation tech, completing the project
began in 196/06.
199/06 IND Romero: ROC Scientists announce
the results of research into the Zombies of IND Romero. This is the latest in a series of public
announcements of various scientific discoveries by Republican researchers. The Republic’s policy is that science and
technology belong in the public domain.
199/20 The Spland University Complex
and Center for Inter-Species Relations is opened at ROC Looking Glass.
Construction is entirely funded by Malcolm Dunbar. Dunbar offers scholarships
to the families of those who fought on both sides of the ROC/DDR conflict.
199/21- Applecore 2250, An ISP Dreadnought
attacks and destroys the USS Bonavista, a merchant vessel en route from the
Republic, the ISP Captain is later punished.
199/22 The DDR make arrangements to close
down their remaining combat base within the Republic. Although only a pitiful
1000 Mus, they are forced to logistical assistance from the Stellar Empire to
help them retreat.
199/29 Blowton 1543. The DDR Mamnon
(an Attack Cruiser commanded by Admiral Ukl En H'Etl), supported by DDR Nikriti-IV,
an SDB commanded by Lt. Will T'Riker tries to revisit IND Romero
(allegedly to buy Jump Engines). ROC Death1, and ROC Battle Claw(SC)
commanded by the Republican zealots Rear Admiral Death1, and Ens Gaius Scipio
pounce on the unsuspecting Strike Cruiser. The SDB is destroyed, and the DDR
Mamnon losses all her crew to Ion Cannon fire. What was once a fearful
ghost ship is now an empty hulk, an era has ended. The derelict Mamnon is boarded and captured by republican
Patriots, she becomes part of the ROC SpaceForce.
199/29 ROC Corona. Reformers and student riot and protest at ROC Corona.
199/47.
ROC Corona. ROC officials make
public the tech tape for a new spaceport complex ‘Colony Assembly’. It is the center for democratic and
representative governance of a colony and can function in either a legislative
or advisory capacity. Operating a
Colony Assembly tends to increase the moral of a colony by increasing the
freedom and liberty enjoyed by the colonists.
199/50
Atticus System. ROC Conclusion
(MF) broadcasts a general distress signal.
It does not have enough jump engines to escape from the Diamond arm of
the Nexus Frontier.
199/51 FOE Fortress of Sorrow. Blaming Senator Cody for his own
incompetent slave management, Foelian Blood Priest Whisper increased his slave
work quotas by 30%.
200/06 FOE Temple of Pestilence. Foelian slavers murder a thousand humans as
part of a demonic ceremony.
200/16 WCE Liberty. In flagrant violation of the Republic’s charter to the WCE, WCE
Liberty leaves the WCE and becomes IND Liberty. IT is time to teach the WCE the pain of violating the Laws of
our sacred Republic!
200/17 ROC Looking Glass. ROC Looking Glass and ROC Mamnon
attack IND Liberty. IND Liberty
surrenders. The ROC Mamnon is
destroyed, the final end of this once most feared ‘ghost ship’.
200/27 The Republic posts the ‘wet death
fleet’ , IND Death Reincarnator, IND Sleet of Death, IND Shower of Death,
IND Death Rains on You and IND Hail of Death for piracy.
201/06 ROC New Zeke City/Skord System. Clan o’the Rock, under the leadership of
Rear Admiral Pahl Kantner leave the Inner Empire and take up residence at ROC
New Zeke City. The new headquarters is
renamed ROC Nuevo San Francisco, in honor of their former home. Lady Grey (Kantner’s common law wife)
manages the day-to-day operations of the colony.
201/11 Driven to remorse by Senator Cody’s
arguments against slavery, the Foelian demon Whisper offers to free 50,000
workslaves on the condition that Sen. Cody visits the FOE and picks them up
personally. The logistics of such an
Exodus are formidable due to the hull limit on entry to the Republic. The security situation within TCA space is
grave. The Foelians are bloodthirsty
and untrustworthy, and have made specific threats against Sen. Cody’s
life. Finally, the moronic Zolmani
also infest the area, and have threatened to kill Sen. Cody if they can. Nevertheless, the opportunity to free even
one slave from the Foelians is too precious to refuse, and negotiations and planning
for the manumission and exodus to freedom begin. This effort is code-named ‘Project Freedom’ and will use a
Myrchant to transport the unfortunate slaves as cryogenic colonists 3,000 at a
time to safety within the Republic.
Eventually over 9,000 are rescued before the deteriorating security
situation within the TCA makes continuing the project untenable. Sen. Cody considers freeing those 9,000
Foelian slaves the finest achievement of his life.
201/12 The Zolmani offer to release 75,000
work slaves if Sen. Cody will personally visit the slave pits to collect them
up. This offer is ignored. The bombastic Zolmani princes are of
limited intelligence, and totally untrustworthy.
201/23 ROC Corona. Search and seizure warrant issued for IND Forager.
201/34 ROC Duluth/Adamski. A cloaked RIP terrorist vessel (RIP Dole
Plantation, commanded by First Mate ‘Pineapple Head’) lands at ROC Duluth
(Adamski System) and disembarks a raiding party (1st Draconian
Guards under ‘Red Storm’). They immediately
attack and capture the Imperial Star Destroyer ROC Downdraft, as well as
ROC CC Exodus and ROC SC Battle Claw which are re-flagged as IND
and launched. ROC Duluth is the
headquarters of the ROC Defense forces, but it has no security complexes! For several hours RIP ground forces occupy
the Starport unopposed. They walk up
to the Assembly Complex and spray anti-ROC and anti Sen. Cody graffiti on its
polished steel exterior. The political
consequences of this ignominy and humiliation are profound. The loss of a cargo carrier has huge
economic implications. The loss of the
ROC Downdraft is strategically significant, she has 2200 pulsar beams and this
is the first Imperial Start Destroyer lost in any kind of combat. An immediate response to this raid is that
Republic forces actively target RIP and IND vessels. Within the week, rioting occurs at several major Republican
colonies, protestors demand President Wilson’s resignation.
201/34 Adamski System, in orbit of planet
Sreel. The newly captured RIP
Battle Claw (SC), encounters, attacks, and then flees from ROC Ghengis
Husky (FF) <Ens Grima Wormtoungue>.

(1st Class) Chico Marin killed in a Garm Shark attack.
201/38 IND Undersea Base. Foelians attack the Celtians.
201/38 FOE Fortress of Sorrow. In an apparent error the ROC Myrchantman Admiral
Steven Cody (commanded by Ens. Silky Tharl) is captured by Demon ‘special
forces’ after landing at FOE Fortress of Sorrow. The demon Whisper returns the ship to the Republic, and as a
token of trust, sacrifices all the forces involved in the boarding and gives
the colony governor, demon Z’Tlan Y’Tcan,
over to Ens. Tharl in chains as a prisoner (he is later sentenced to 60
hours community service in the ROC Corona Parking Enforcement Bureau, when the
sentence was completed he was reluctant to return to his homeland and continued
to work at the PEB, he is currently a Parking Enforcement Officer). ROC Admiral Steven Cody is loaded with a
classified cargo and return to the Republic.
It is later revealed that the cargo was cryogenically suspended slaves,
and that this is the first of several shipments of slaves released by the demon
Whisper to the Republic, eventually this operation rescues 9000 Foelian slaves.
201/38 Adamski System SSQ 2232, “the
bloodless battle” . One of the stranger
episodes in the much storied battle history of the Adamski system. While on picket duty Vice Admiral R.H.
Cunningham, commanding the ROC Grey Ghost (MoW) encounters and attacks
two RIP vessels, RIP Seal (Myr) <Lt Ewauna> and RIP Death’s
Head (Myr) <Ens Cutthroat.>
Both sides fire tractor beams and ion cannons, and no hits are scored by
either side. The RIP ships flee into
orbit.
201/39 Adamski System SSQ 2232.
Both RIP ships leave orbit and again encounter the ROC Grey Ghost
(MoW) <Vice Admiral R.H. Cunningham>.
This time the terrorists are not so lucky, all crew onboard the RIP
Seal (Myr) <Lt. Ewauna> are killed and the ship becomes
derilict. RIP Death’s Head
(Myr) <Ens Cutthroat> survives.
201/40 Adamski SSQ
1031. ROC Zombie’s Folly (CC) <Cmdr Jah’Heruka> and ROC Ovation
(DN) <Capt. Craig Wood> encounter and attack RIP Death’s Head
(Myr) <Ens Cutthroat>. The RIP
show extraordinary marksmanship and are able to derelict both ROC vessels, with
all crew lost. The RIP vessel is
destroyed. Both ROC vessels are later
recovered and returned to active service.
201/41 President Wilson accepts
responsibility for the disastrous RIP raid (34/201) and resigns. Vice-President Ian Dunbar takes over
temporarily until an election can be held.
Although the RIP have tried for years to overthrow the Imperial
government, with one daring raid they have succeeded in overturning the
Republican government.
201/42 Allipon:
former President Malcolm Dunbar visits Allipon for trade and diplomatic
meetings with Lord Jacine. He also
visits IMP Jax for discussions with the government of the Stellar Empire.
201/45. location
classified Republic officials announce, with regret, the death of Vice
Admiral R.H. Cunningham, and the entire crew of the ROC Grey Ghost (MoW)

Jax. After extensive meeting with Reich Chancellor Ozi Krieger
Sen. Cody is honored by being invited to address the Senate. His speech emphasizes the historic links
between the Stellar Empire and the Republic.
201/49 KZK
Fortress of Sorrow. Senator Cody
arrives at FOE Fortress of Sorrow for a state Banquet to complete his part of
the slave manumission agreement with the FOE.
However the colony has just been captured by the Kazereckii. Intending perhaps to persuade the
Kazereckii to release more slaves, Cody stays overnight, but suffers from
surreal nightmares and sleeps fitfully.
Sen. Cody awakens in a cold sweat before dawn and orders an immediate
launch. The unarmed ROC Admiral
Steven Cody lifts off from the battle scarred Spaceport, and hurtles
through the debris filled orbit towards home.
The next day the Foelians drop plague bombs on the colony.
202/14 ROC
Corona. Research on ‘Improved
Transfers’ is completed at the Corona Institute of Economics and Logistics, and
it is released as a new affiliation ability.
202/25 ROC
Nuevo San Francisco. Clan ‘O the Rock
leader, Vice Admiral Pahl Kantner is elected President of our Republic. Ian ‘Iron First’ Dunbar is retained as
commander of the SpaceForce. Senator
Cody’s political base in the Inferno systems makes it impossible for Kantner to
ignore him Cody stays on as Development Co-ordinator in the new government The
Republic’s Executive Capital is relocated to ROC Nuevo San Francisco.
202/25 Dryad SSQ 1340 A ROC SpaceForce squadron comprised of ROC

<Capt. Stacey L. Thomas>, ROC I.Rashaan (FBS) <Lcdr Kirk
Roland>, ROC Flume (FBS) <Cmdr Shawn Ellison>, ROC
Motherssorrow (MoW) <Lt Mikee Hart> and ROC Seal (Myr) attacks
a RIP fleet comprised of three Survey Cruisers escorted by RIP Aldebaran

ROC Kill-Deer (SC) <Vice Admiral Tamenund>, ROC Flume (FBS)
<Cmdr Shawn Ellison>, ROC Motherssorrow (MoW) <Lt Mikee
Hart> and ROC Seal (Myr) attacks a RIP fleet in orbit of
Lady/Dryad. The RIP fleet is comprised
of eleven Survey Cruisers and three Myrships, one Myrship, the RIP Cloudy
Sky is commanded by Rear Admiral Silentwolf. Ten of the RIP terrorist ships (including the flagship, RIP
Cloudy Sky) are destroyed, and Rear Admiral Silentwolf is killed. ROC Seal is also destroyed. Unconfirmed rumors speculate that the ROC
Downdraft (ISD) was recovered from the RIP after payment of a one million
stellar bounty to ‘Eyepatch’, the leader of the RIP raid on Duluth in 201/34.
202/26 Blowton SSQ 1543.
A pair of RIP Corsairs slip past the ROC blockade of Lady, and attempt
to establish a blockade of their own.
They encounter the ROC Vertigo (MoW) commanded by Capt. Charles
Cole who engages and destroys them both.

ROC ground forces capture the rest of the terrorist base, RIP Crooked
Castle. An investigation begins into who
supported the RIP in their attacks on the Republic. Documents are found which indicate that James T. Valiant, with
support from his friends in the Kazereckiii established this terror base.
202/38 Inversion/Storm.
The Omegans are granted a ROC Charter, and contract to govern the Storm
System on behalf of the Republic. This

commanded by Vice Admiral Ichabod McCrain and the ROC Vagabond (WC),
<Capt. Thomas Alcorn> attack the colony IND Havana <Governor Alexi
Castro>, both vessels are destroyed.
202/42 ROC Duluth.
Defense Co-ordinator Ian Dunbar announces that the KZK colonization
charter has been revoked due to Kazereckii support of the RIP. All Kazereckii personnel have been expelled
from the Republic, and all Kazereckii colonies have been taken over by the
Republic. Relations between the
Republic and the Kazereckii remain cordial.
