History of the ROC/DDR Interaction

195/39 ROC Ticonderoga, commanded by Admiral Valdor, arrived at Yank/Mobile Bay to investigate the mysterious annihilation of IND Villiard.

195/40 DDR Mamnon appears in orbit Yank/Mobile Bay. The DDR are a totally unknown affiliation, at first DDR is thought to stand for the Dark Dominion, only after four years of war is their true name, Dark Dominion Royals, known. From this day forth the DDR Mamnon becomes a modern day ghost ship of the Republic, feared by many, seen by few. Admiral Valdor spends a nervous week, facing an alien vessel of unknown capabilities and size.

195/41 ROC reinforcements arrive over Yank/Mobile Bay, the DDR Mamnon is repeatedly ordered to heave to for boarding, she does not respond.

195/41 Adamski/2235 The Heavy Cruiser ROC Ticonderoga (commanded by Rear Admiral Jason Valdor) encounters and attacks the Myrship RIP Talisker, the Myrship immediately flees. Admiral Valdor is reprimanded for attacking the RIP ship. This incident is the beginning of Admiral Valdor's disenchantment with civilian control of the military, which culminates in his eventual emigration to the Stellar Empire.

195/42 ROC Devil's Fiddle arrives over Yank/Mobile Bay, with a search warrant for the DDR Mamnon. The
Republic Space Force attempts to forcibly execute the search warrant. ROC Devil's Fiddle, commanded by Commodore Varski, ROC Republic's Pride, commanded by Ens Brett Larson, ROC Girard, commanded by Lcdr James Valiant, ROC Ticonderoga, commanded by Rear Adm Jason Valdor and ROC Western, commanded by Lt. Jake McKeeg open fire on the DDR Mamnon, an 'Attack Cruiser' commanded by Capt. Ukl Enh'Etl. A USS CL observes the battle, but does not take part. The DDR Mamnon is damaged, but manages to escape, is immediately ROC posted.

195/44 Adamski/2749: First Battle of Adamski. The Heavy Cruisers ROC Death2, ROC Death1, ROC Gladiator, ROC Reynier, ROC Ticonderoga (commanded by Rear Admiral Jason Valdor), ROC Western and ROC Independence, supported by the Myrship ROC Constitution (commanded by Read Admiral Steven Cody) encounter and attack the DDR Mamnon (Attack Cruiser, commanded by Capt. Ukl Enh'Etl), DDR Interpid, DDR Enterprise (Escort Carriers), DDR Nikriti-I, DDR Nikriti-II, DDR Nikriti-III,DDR Nikriti-IV (SDBs) and the DDR AD-111 (Tender). The DDR Spacefighters prove to be deadly adversaries two ROC vessels (ROC Death2 and ROC Reynier) are lost. All the DDR vessels survive, although by the end of the battle, six ROC vessels are still firing, but only one DDR vessel (the DDR Nikriti-II, firing 40 Tachyon cannons for minimal damage) is combat capable.

195/44 The DTR HQ, DTR Detinus attacks and captures ROC Kaga IV while it is trading at her Spaceport. In response the Republic of Corona posts DTR Detinus. Only after the DTR rebels are victorious are reparations made and the posting lifted.

195/45 Adamski/2749: Second Battle of Adamski, ROC Grey Ghost, ROC Devil's Fiddle, ROC Death1, ROC Dragon Phyre, ROC Gladiator, ROC Constitution, ROC Independence, ROC Ticonderoga, and ROC Outer Limits pounce on and destroy an unarmed DDR supply ship (DDR AD-111, a 'Tender' commanded by Lt. Ko Do'Ryt). It is destroyed in the first salvo and it the first confirmed Republican kill of a DDR vessel.

195/46 The Republic of Corona publishes its exploration results for the Nexus System(225), the existence, jump engine limit, location, and periodicity of micro-wormholes, and the names of the systems they lead to becomes available to the People for the first time. Previously tyrants, aliens, and technocrats had sought to keep this information for themselves.

196/06 the Republic and the EEM sign a colonization treaty. In return for colonization rights in the DC, the EEM agrees to assist the Republic in reverse engineering Pocket Battleship technology.

195/48 Malcolm Dunbar elected President of the Republic of Corona, the first person to serve two terms as President. President Dunbar's first official act is to appoint Admiral Jason Valdor as Vice President.

196/20 Jonathan Adenauer resigns as ROC Foreign Minister and Information Coordinator.

196/21 Vice-President Jason Valdor succumbs to the cultural pollution of the Tyrant and leaves the Republic to join the tyrannical forces of the Stellar Empire.

196/22 Lcdr James T. Valiant, former Republic Trade Secretary is found guilty of 'gross dereliction of duty', resulting in the loss of two MoWs with all hands. Based on medical evidence, and an emotional appeal by Admiral Jason Valdor on behalf of his comrade from Mobile Bay, he is remanded to the care of a specialized outpatient medical facility. He is believed to be currently employed as a burrito cook at ROC Corona's Spaceport Taco Bell.

196/25 Ryerson/Blackdar: A ISP/KZK/SMS fleet of 7 capital warships and 2 smaller vessels, commanded by Admiral Jason Valdor aboard the ISP Deutschland, blockades Ryerson, and the three RIP colonies that have been found there. The blockading fleet is stretched thin because Imperial forces are fighting the FOE/DTR in Gank over a captured AFT Colony. Unexpectedly a fleet of 17 RIP warships (1 Baseship, 9 capital ships, and 7 Survey Cruisers), armed primarily with Ion Cannon, sorties out to break the blockade. The IMP blockade cannot be broken, 3 RIP capital ships and 1 SC are destroyed, along with one SMS vessel. But the hideous ion radiation has exacted its gruesome toll, nobody is left alive aboard the IMP flagship, ISP Deutschland, even the main section has been swept clean by Ion Cannon fire. Admiral Jason Valdor is dead.

196/29 ROC President Dunbar bans the FOE from orbiting or visiting Republican worlds. Statements, made by a representative of the Foelian government (related to slave breeding, slave sacrifices and colonist sacrifices) are "deeply disturbing, and to be totally inimicable to the Founding Principles of this Republic".

196/34 IND Zekefire, Blowton/Valley. Ruler Zeke flees his colony and "Vows Revenge On Those Who Have Destroyed My Dream". He is remembered as a tyrant with little compassion who betrayed and murdered his father to ascend to power.

196/36 ROC President Dunbar awards ROC Senator Bill Cody the "ROC Diplomacy Medal" for his vigorous diplomatic response to the Kazerekii's attempt to pimp the Celtians.

197/01Blowton/Geeche: The Survey Cruisers ISP Lone Ranger 1, ISP Lone Ranger 2 and ISP Newtonian Fable arrive on station at Geeche orbit. These are the vanguard of a larger ISP deployment in support of the Republic's stuggle against terrorism and secession. This deployment followed by the staggering ISP losses over Geeche cement the unlikely friendship between the Republic and the Stellar Empire.

197/04 Blowton/Geeche. As dawn breaks over IND Romero, a multi-affiliation task force is beginning another orbital bombardment of the terrorist base when a DDR Strike Group (DDR Mamnon, and the Escort Carriers DDR Enterprise and DDR Intrepid) attacks. USS Ummagumma, ROC Goodwill Ambassador, ROC Grey Ghost, ROC Colony Purgatory, ROC Gladiator, IND Western, IND Ticonderoga, ROC Wildfire, ROC Death4, ROC Chikhai Kaya, ROC Xterminx, ROC Death2, ISP Long Ranger 1, ISP Long Ranger 2, ISP Sharps, and ISP Newtonian Fable. (the battle marks one of the rare occasions where the IMP and USS find themselves on the same side).

While the task force divides its fire between IND Romero and the DDR Strike group, the DDR use Tachyon Cannons, Mass Drivers, and their deadly masses of Spacefighters to great effect.

DDR Mamnon's shields are breached, and she continues to soak extraordinary damage, but is still able to limp away to safety. IND (formerly ROC) Ticonderoga, ROC Death2 are lost to DDR Spacefighters.

All the DDR ships escape.

197/05 Ventor/Outpost 67 DDR Colony Knightholm attacks and destroys the SC ROC Nexus 1.

197/08 Blowton/Geeche: The main ISP fleet, consisting of 20 warships (ISP Nexus Relief 31 thru' 50), arrives in Geeche orbit. 2 ISP vessels are lost within days to the swarms of spacefighters being launched from IND Romero.

197/09 Blowton/Geeche: The IND Romero spacefighters claim another ISP Survey Cruiser. But IND Romero is suffering continual punishing orbital bombardments. How much more can the colony take?

197/11 Blowton/Geeche: Orbital bombardment of the secessionists at IND Romero continues, two more ISP survey cruisers are lost to the IND Romero spacefighters. The Romero pilots seem to be able to destroy any vessel they target. Its fortunate that they only scramble twice a week.

197/12 Blowton/Geeche: This time the Republic gets its ticket punched over Geeche, as two ROC ships lost to the IND Romero spacefighters. One is the ROC Devil's Fiddle, commanded by Vice Admiral Varski.

197/16 Blowton/Geeche: ROC Constitution, (Myrship) commanded by Senator Bill Cody's son, Admiral Steven Cody, is lost with all hands while fighting off spacefighters in the skies over Blowton/Geeche. The Republic is loosing the cream of a generation in this struggle for democracy. An ISP Survey Cruiser is lost also.

197/17 Blowton/Geeche: Additional ISP reinforcements arrive: ISP Lone Ranger's 8 thru 13 (Survey Cruisers).
Most of the ROC fleet has withdrawn, only 3 ROC ships remain, along with an IND ship commanded by Jake McKeeg. The bulk of the battle is carried by the ISP, and 2 ISP ships lost this week.

197/19 Blowton/Geeche: Six ROC Vessels arrive to reinforcing the blockade. Two ROC ships are lost to spacefighter attacks, including ROC Wildfire, commanded by Vice Admiral Varmogul. The highest ranking officer in the Allied fleet is now LCDR Scipio of the ROC Battle Claw.

197/20 Blowton/Geeche: While the ground battle rages below, several orbital skirmishes are fought (between 197/20 and 197/39), and several Alliance ships are lost. The Allied fleet is becoming increasingly complacent, believing that the orbit is secure, and IND Romero is isolated from DDR resupply. In reality the DDR is using cloaked vessels to slip through the blockade unseen, and the Geeche orbit is becoming increasing untenable as IND Romero's space weapons are reinforced.

197/24 Inferno/Fork: ROC Corona announces the opening of the Steven Cody Memorial Coliseum.

197/24 Blowton/Geeche: The ground battle for IND Romero (Blowton/Geeche) hangs in the balance. ROC forces hold the spaceport, and begin constant air attacks on the colony itself. The elite ROC Death Sqdn, supported by the ROC 1st Battalion lead the charge. IND Romero has no ground forces, but it is ably defended by the ground party DDR Caesar. ROC Patriots fail to liberate the colony from tyranny.

197/38 In response to ZCS threats and incursions against USS positions within the Republic, the ROC grants the USS authority to attack ZCS ships found within the same space square as a USS colony

197/39 Blowton/Geeche: Another supposedly routine bombardment of IND Romero. But this time the colony flexes its new found muscle, 11 allied ships are lost, 6 ROC & 5 ISP (only 8 ISP warships, of the 29 sent to Geeche, remain). This week's losses are the biggest so far suffered by the alliance, a war that seemed won, now seems lost. The unlikely friendship between the ROC and IMP is sealed in blood in the skies over Geeche. ISS Volksboot Seiben investigates the unique fauna of Geeche on the planet's surface.

197/40 In response to ZCS assurances that it will not spread the GA/SAM war into the Republic. The ROC rescinds USS authority to attack ZCS vessels near USS colonies within the Republic.

197/51 Romero/Geeche: Between 197/39 and 197/50, IND Romero does not initiate combat. The lesson of 197/39 is not learned by the alliance fleet. The orbit has become untenable, and allied ships remain in orbit only because IND Romero allows them to. This week the allies make the mistake of beginning another orbital bombardment, and IND Romero roars her outrage. 2 ROC ships and 7 ISP ships are destroyed. This is the highest single week losses the ISP has suffered to date. Only 1 ISP warship, and the ISS Volksboot Seiben remain of the ISP assets deployed to Geeche. This is the high point of IND Romero's orbital capabilites. Over the new few months she is not as well resupplied by her DDR puppetmasters, and the continual losses to the relentless orbital bombardment and ground assaults are not replaced. DDR logistical capabilities are focussed on supporting the ground defenses . Occasionally ROC Purgatory is able to amass enough missiles to land some devastating blows. By 198/21 Romero's space weapons are a pitiful 124 space fighters.

198/01 Blowton/Geeche: Star Admiral Terry Gordie dies when his ship, the ROC Escapade, implodes after severe damage from IND Romero spacefighters. Also lost is the last ISP warship remaining over Geeche, only the explorer ISS Volksboot Sieben remains. ISS Volksboot Sieben is off-station being resupplied, and is expected to return to the surface shortly.

198/02 Blowton/Geeche: Two orbital battles, first IND Romero fires, with no allied losses. Then a second battle begins when ROC Dreadx leaves orbit and returns. The last IMP ship, ISS Volksboot Seiben is destroyed before
she can return to the surface. 30 IMP ships have been lost over Geeche, the Stellar Empire cannot sustain these losses, and fight the Samillian invasion. The Stellar Empire withdraws form the Geeche conflict, leaving the Republic to fight on alone.

198/21 Blowton/Geeche: IND Romero and ROC Purgatory resemble two punch drunk fighters as their diminished space weapons shout out yet again (Space fighters only this week, Purgatory boasts 134, Romero 124).

198/23 Blowton/Geeche: Two ROC Space Force vessels (the War Galley ROC Dream Maker and the Survey Cruiser ROC Roundabout) arrive to support ROC Purgatory, but withdraw when sensors report Zombie Space Fighters scrambling. Its becoming obvious that two years of conflict has exhausted the space/orbital capabilities of both sides.

198/24 Blowton/Geeche. The battle for freedom on Geeche has degenerated into trench warfare. ROC strategic hopes are pinned on increased resupply to the Patriots on Geeche. Unfortunately every ROC effort has been matched, and exceeded, by increased DDR logistical support. Usually the ROC forces (ROC Patriot Brigade and Death Sqdn) repeatedly bomb the colony defenders, but this time the orders are to close for ground combat. As the bloody week of 24/198 begins it becomes obvious that the infernal Dominion has reinforced the zombie cultists. Elite Dominion units (the Knight Brigade and 8th Elite Knights), as well as components of the mysterious Trell Army Group ( 33rd Trell Army, 1/9 Trell Army Group, 2/9 Trell Army Group, and 3/9 Trell Army Group) have been thrown into the fray. Horrendous, almost unstoppable, alien devices called 'Morgatrons' roam the battlefield spreading death and terror, and the bone chilling Realm Knights attack without rest or mercy. It heartens all Patriots to see our ground fighter pilots ceaselessly attack the infidels, even though this leaves little time to establish air superiority. The ROC ground forces disengage from battle, official records state that it is not a rout, it is a strategic withdrawal.

198/25 Blowton/Geeche. ROC Purgatory and IND Romero resume their punch drunk death dance. Purgatory boasts 1392 missiles and 102 fighters, Romero launches 133 fighters.

198/26 Blowton/Geeche. ROC Purgatory attacks IND Romero, using all her missiles in the first salvo. Romero's spacefighters are whittled down by defensive Pulsar fire. As the holy struggle rages in the heavens, battle is joined on the ground as well! ROC Patriots hurl themselves in an almost unwinnable attack against the heathen evil of the Dark Dominion. An difficult situation turns utterly hopeless when it becomes obvious that the cloaked Dominion resupply fleet has once more slipped through the blockade unseen and reinforced the Knight Brigade (+800 ground fighters) as well as 1/9 Trell Army Grp (+210 Realm Knights) and the 2/9 Trell Army Grp (+210 Realm Knights). After this attack, the remains of the ROC Air force are ominously unprotected. ROC Patriot Brigade is completely wiped out in this attack. ROC President Dunbar publicly vows to avenge the Patriot Brigade.

198/27 Blowton/Geeche: ROC forces again assault IND Romero from space, and on the ground. Admiral Varzur aboard the ROC Downdraft takes over command of orbital operations, but the results are disappointing, Romero's alien shields are not breached and for the first week in months, Romero is unscathed by the orbital bombardment. The Republic throws its 13th Air Group onto the pyre outside the gates of Romero. Just an air raid this week, the forces of democracy lack the strength to suffer again the losses they incurred last week during a ground assault. The satanists have succeeded again in reinforcing their blasphemous Trell Army. President Dunbar, like a caring doctor, will not give up the fight to exorcise the Republic of this infection. With a stirring speech he mobilizes the entire Republic to win what has become a war of attrition and logistics. This speech is later recognized as the turning point of the war.

198/28 Inferno/Fork : Like all other ROC colonies, ROC Corona is placed on a full war footing, producing ground fighters day and night for the forces of democracy on Geeche. The Republic has also acquired Troop specialized, Cargo Carriers with which to resupply the Geeche freedom fighters.

198/30 Blowton/Geeche: The Dominion again shows an astonishing and baffling ability to bring very significant reinforcements (estimated at 24,000 MUs) at will to their ground forces on Geeche. Whereas Patriots had faced groups of 3 or 4 Morgatrons in the past, these terrifying alien machines now roam the battlefield in groups of 20. The ROC Space Force is unable to identify or interdict the logistical capabilities of the Dominion at this point. ROC officials (speaking off the record) state that they believe the DDR units are at full strength at the start of this ROC air raid. The massively reinforced ROC air units are spectacularly successful, sweeping the skies of DDR forces and destroying every DDR ground fighter, even so, the following wave of bombers take significant losses from the Dominion AA. Only an air raid this week, but the forces of freedom are growing, ROC forces are about 154,000MUs, vs 64,000 Zombie MUs at the end of the week. After first neutralizing Romero's orbital capabilities, the Republic has now obtained air superiority. The next step must be to bury the infidels in a hail of fire and vengance.

198/31 Blowton/Geeche: The effects of three years of attrition begin to be felt. ROC Purgatory fires 6 missiles and launches 134 space fighters, IND Romero responds with 6 space fighters.

198/32 Blowton/Geeche: ROC Purgatory fires 6 missiles, 1 pulsar, and 1 fighter, and is outgunned by the Myrship ROC I. Rashaan which fires 76 missiles. The Zombies terrorists at IND Romero launch 134 Space Fighters.

198/38 Senator Bledsoe is elected ROC President, all affiliations with colonies in the Republic were allowed to vote. Former President Malcolm Dunbar, tired of war, and sickened by the loss of life returns to his home colony of ROC Looking Glass.

198/39 Blowton/Geeche: ROC Vagabond and ROC Death1 attack IND Romero in support of ongoing ground operations. Romero does not fire back, and ROC Purgatory does not support the attack. Both vessels combine firepower to pierce the non-military ring shields by Round 3. A massive ROC air raid on Romero fails to draw out the DDR defenders. The DDR ground parties do not defend the colony, and the air raid only produces more craters in what is already a hollow shell of a colony.

198/39 Blowton/1543 Geeche Orbit: The War Cruiser ROC Vagabond and the Man-O-War ROC Death1 conduct an orbital bombardment of secessionist base IND Romero. The colony does not respond.

198/40 The Republic of Corona joins the Grand Alliance.

198/42 Blowton/1543: ROC East Fall(CA), ROC Anarchy(WC) commanded by Lt. Caleb Dunbar, ROC Roundabout(SC), ROC Death1(MoW), ROC Grey Ghost(MoW) commanded by Rear Admiral R. H. Cunningham, ROC Battle Claw(SC), ROC Death Phyre(MoW), ROC Downdraft(MoW) commanded by Admiral Varzur, ROC Ovation(SC), and ROC Flume(SC), interdict two DDR Combat Resupply vessels, DDR Squire Supply 28 and DDR Squire Supply 29. Both DDR vessels are destroyed.

198/44 Blowton/Geeche: ROC Purgatory, and ROC Cathedral launch their space fighters at IND Romero, the punch drunk colony offers no defense. It is good to know that Secessionists are dying tonight.

198/44 Blowton/1643 ROC Death1, ROC Death Phyre, ROC Death4, ROC I. Rashaan and ROC Vagabond interdict a DDR terrorist supply convoy comprising DDR Squireship 18 (PB), DDR Squire 5 (PB), and DDR Squire Supply 17 (Combat Resupply). DDR Squire Supply 17 is destroyed.

198/45 Blowton/1543 ROC Skyehawk, ROC Anarchy, ROC Grey Ghost, ROC Death3 and ROC Downdraft (commanded by Admiral Varzur) attack and, with a single salvo, destroy DDR Squire 5, a Pocket Battleship commanded by Ensign Ubla Gabolaba

198/50 DDR surrender to the ROC and agree to withdraw from the Republic, pursuant to the DDR surrender, the ROC unposts a number of DDR vessels, including the legendary DDR Mamnon. The arrangements are made through a neutral third party, Lord Rhys Haldane of the USA.

199/04 The Republic of Corona reverse engineers the Pocket Battleship as an affiliation tech, completing the project began in 196/06.

199/20 The Spland University Complex and Center for Inter-Species Relations is opened at ROC Looking Glass. Construction is entirely funded by Malcolm Dunbar. Dunbar offers scholarships to the families of those who fought on both sides of the ROC/DDR conflict.

199/21- Applecore 2250, An ISP Dreadnought attacks and destroys the USS Bonavista, a merchant vessel en route from the Republic, the ISP Captain is later punished.

199/22 The DDR make arrangements to close down their remaining combat base within the Republic. Although only a pitiful 1000 Mus, they are forced to logistical assistance from the Stellar Empire to help them retreat.

199/29 Blowton 1543. The DDR Mamnon (an Attack Cruiser commanded by Admiral Ukl En H'Etl), supported by DDR Nikriti-IV, an SDB commanded by Lt. Will T'Riker tries to revisit IND Romero (allegedly to buy Jump Engines). ROC Death1, and ROC Battle Claw(SC) commanded by the Republican zealots Rear Admiral Death1, and Ens Gaius Scipio pounce on the unsuspecting Strike Cruiser. The SDB is destroyed, and the DDR Mamnon losses all her crew to Ion Cannon fire. What was once a fearful ghost ship is now an empty hulk, an era has ended.
